What is SDFutures?

SDFutures – Imaginative Fiction for Young Writers

Speculating about the future and imaginary worlds is how we expand our visions, create dreams we pursue, explore our fears, and express ourselves and our communities. Do you see yourself in the futures and fantasies you read, watch, and play? Do you WANT to? Join SDFutures!

SDFutures is a place for writers to have fun exploring imaginative fiction—writing and sharing science fiction, fantasy, and horror stories with likeminded people, learning from inspiring living writers, and imagining new possibilities for the world to come.

The SD in our name stands for San Diego, the border region where we’re located, but also student-driven, because we believe the imaginations of young people are what can save humanity.

We’re organized by the Arthur C. Clarke Center for Human Imagination at UC San Diego.

This project was made possible with support from California Humanities, a nonprofit partner of the National Endowment for the Humanities. Visit www.calhum.org.”
